i am going to panic! at the roxy.
anyone doing anything fun?
so I'm doing nothing :(
however, my incompetent new landlords haven't actually taken any cash off me for my rent, so i'm ££££££££££ in.
My Dad is really excited. Bless.
gonna get hammered!
panic @ roxy is well funny. last time i was there they played like, trance remixes of indie songs, and all the fashionistas had no idea what to do with themselves. then i stole a shot of sambuca. YES.
sounds awesome :D one of my friends just sent me an email asking if i wanted to go. so i decided that, yes, i did, and that i also wanted tomorrow off work. so now i have both. yay!
it's really funny. they also played the whole of the theme tune to 'fresh prince of bel air'. HAHAHA! AND - pretend it's your birthday. you'll get in for free.
I just looked on their site: £2.50 DOUBLES and 2 for 1 Kroney!? WHY HAVE I NOT BEEN!?
cos YOU'RE IRISH
But then SO AM I
It's far away from the lovely Forest Hill/Catford limbo area in which I dwell.
i KNOW you can get the n171 home.
Which is scary at night
I'd rather just go to the Fox and get a 75 back
but, i used to do it on my own. ah the 75.
I would make love to it 24 hours a day from Croydon to Lewisham
so I'd just be giving the 75 AIDS. The bad kind. Twice.
The happy hour is 5pm to 7.30pm, wherein such offers are available and you are almost guaranteed a seat and decent music.
for the 2.5 hours of 'happy hour' when the drinks are reasonably priced...
Dom does the early section where he'll play good tunes. Then the other two will probably play electro-clash or some sort of crap like that. :D
Still, it's a nice venue.
from about 9 :P
Hand him a 7": he regularly plays demos and such.
catch the end of happy hour (9:30-10:30) maybe...
£2 beer <33333333333
you all win
for someone's leaving drinks, and hoping it's not full of knobs who are there to be seen. Then a mate's band (Sleepercurve) at the Windmill.
the one time i've been. apart from the fact i was bought whisky and wanted to throw up after one sip.
it wasn't full of knobs, well not a massively high percentage.
It's our default after-work pub, and the people are always sound. Every so often, though, there's an article in London Lite or summat about how it's the new cool place to hang out and how Borrell, Winehouse, Tourette et al are always in there. Are they bollocks.
i know the name, but can't think where...
just under the bridge and turn right.
where hawley rd meets camden rd & chalk farm rd
i wouldn't notice if they were.
and I've just never noticed them.
this thread has got me singing "Tonight" by Iggy Pop to myself, which can only be a Good Thing
where d'arcy and james have got to..
"An electronic smorgasbord of textured melodies, staccato beats and clearly structured hip-hop rhythms, leaning toward Anticon territory."
Sounds ace :D
