Can anyone recommend me some albums from 2013?
this is defo the one
Can't believe no one has mentioned
Beady Eye - BE
Would be good to know if anyone else thought these albums were worth recommending too.
We'll get a comprehensive list of recommended 2013 albums
There's a perma-stickied 2013 thread on the music board, have a look at what's got the most thises that you don't know?
and I'm pretty sure someone did a fairly comprehensive DiS Albums Of 2013 thread too.
Pretty sure The National won it.
Not sure what came out in 2013 but pretty sure The National winning it is a massive miscarriage of justice
And the Rollin' EP.
Logos - Cold Mission
Burial - Rival Dealer
Galcher Lustwerk - 100% Galcher
Dean Blunt - The Redeemer
Oneohtrix Point Never - R Plus 7
Kelela - Cut 4 Me

Some random tracks...

Was Shaking the Habitual 2013?
Assuming it was and you don't have it, GET IT.
10. Kvelertak - Meir
Darker than the first, still balls out metallic, punk rock 'n roll through and through. Bruane Brenn, the first single, is one of my favourite songs ever.
9. The Night Marchers - Allez! Allez!
Speedo from Rocket From The Crypt doing his thing (i.e. punk rock) - pure class all the way, just tune after tune of bangers.
8. The Dillinger Escape Plan - One Of Us Is A Killer
Mental - my favourite DEP album. Proper Faith No More bonkers going on, especially on Paranoia Shields and Nothing's Funny. Brutal.
7. Axis Of - Finding St. Kilda
Ireland's Torche playing Torche songs if they were a punk band. Lots going on here, from metal, hardcore, pop-punk and packed with huge fucking choruses.
6. The Computers - Love Triangles, Hate Squares
Quiffs and that. Loads of people will hate this, but it's great bit of garage rock.
5. Megachurch - Megachurch 2: Judgment Day
Instrumental stoner rock 3 piece - 2 bassists, drummer and samples of preachers spliced in. Actually incredible.
4.Honningbarna – Verden Er Enkel
Refused's younger brothers (not really, but they could be). Punk rock with a cello. Yeah. All the songs rule on this - hard.
3. Future of the Left – How To Stop Your Brain In An Accident
yer man Falco being pretty bitter about everything. Best FOTL album, loads of bile/weird songs about DJs, Michael Winner, yer man from Razorlit and having a fucking big head.
2. Clutch – Earth Rocker
Epic party times. This could soundtrack the end of the world.
1. Jetplane Landing - Don't Try
I'm in the video at 0:55. : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0p51bYGbkrM
Shucks, some good recommendations there, I'll always check recommendations from people who rate FOTL. Hadn't heard of Axis of before, like what I just listened to. Is their new one any good?
Do you have any recommendations for 2014/2015 albums?
Any recommendations for 2015
So, so jealous.
Waxahatchee – Cerulean Salt
Janelle Monae – The Electric Lady
The Haxan Cloak – Excavation
Zomby – With Love
Wavves – Afraid of Heights
Earl Sweatshirt – Doris
Tegan & Sara – Heartthrob
Thus rendering the entire rest of the music board redundant.
may well be my best day of all of 2013
some stuff that I liked and had on my end of year lists I have barely touched since.
Probably the 2013 album I've listened to the most
It's already has better suggestions than the one up there.
is what you mean
from a year - years - but my philosophy is if I'm supposed to hear it & like it, I will. I got caught into the Manics craze around "Tolerate" - fucking drag. Richard Hawley: "Cole's Corner" (the tune) the only thing worthwhile. And don't get me started on the billions others. I don't feel bad about heavy rotation of tracks cut at Cosino's J&M studios in Nawlins. Don't force it, it'll come if it's supposed to. Otherwise you're just playing into the marketing game.
Steppin' Out – Herb Alpert
The Beat – Boney James
HandPicked – Earl Klugh
Summer Horns – Dave Koz, Gerald Albright, Mindi Abair & Richard Elliot
Hacienda – Jeff Lorber Fusion
Unorthodox Jukebox – Bruno Mars
Paradise – Lana Del Rey
Pure Heroine – Lorde
Blurred Lines – Robin Thicke
The 20/20 Experience – The Complete Experience – Justin Timberlake
To Be Loved – Michael Bublé
Viva Duets – Tony Bennett and various artists
The Standards – Gloria Estefan
Cee Lo's Magic Moment – Cee Lo Green
Now – Dionne Warwick
Future of the Left
Yes, It's True
Much like this one
Then again my "years" collection from 2004-onwards is a bit light anyway, with 2007, 2008 and 2010 being slightly better.
