Now UK dates, pretty please...
Pledged 10 tickets on Detour for these guys (which was later reduced to the max of 6) and flew out to NY to go see & interview them.

ATP are involved in putting on a show
ATP may be putting on a show in London.
ooooooooooooooooooooooh this is exicitiiiiiiiiiiiing
Favourite band by a fucking mile, Emergency and I (and perhaps ...Is Terrified) is quite possibly the best album ever made!
Is Terrified doesn't get the respect it deserves in my books!
Might actually be my favourite of all of their songs tbh. Respect Is Due is a great closer too, so yeah, underloved classic!
Do The Standing Still
One Too Many Blows To The Head
which make that album incredible
I adore all of those too, Do the Standing Still would definitely become part of my bands' regular set, if only we could work the damn thing out...
T-Mo's solo stuff isn't as bad as reviews made out, but it also wasn't a patch on The Plan. The days of Emergency & Is Terrified are gone, but if they can put create something Change-ish, I will be a VERY happy man.
in a good way
but decided to not watch them as the sound quality wasn't great so would rather wait to hear it properly.
Which I will be listening to for the rest of the day
when they toured Change, i would like to see them under better circumstances
It was busy, but not full. They were ace.
(spoilers: it's the new track Waiting)

I AM MOTHERFUCKING GOING TO SEE THE DISMEMBERMENT PLAN.
I'm going to cry.
The album cover's pretty awful:
Oh wow, it's awful. It's all the worst sides of Travis Morrison's solo stuff. File under Barenaked Ladies / Ben Folds shit.
fan of the use of 'up in my biz' though
Big improvement on the last one
haven't listened to this yet;might not listen at all. that P4K interview suggests they've lost their vitality, mistaking it for a bad thing.
My instincts want to agree with you, but I'm reserving judgement until I hear the whole thing.
bit meh on the other two.
24 Brighton, Audio
26 London, Electric Ballroom
27 Manchester, Academy 3
28 Glasgow, Stereo
29 Bristol, Thekla
30 Camber Sands, ATP End of an Era Part 2
Did think it was odd that date was so much earlier.
Twice in a week, great!
yeah, even though the new stuff is pony, I'm all over that Academy 3 date.
Represent is a great track and Born in '72, Song For The Orca & The Word Cop aren't bad either.
as are most 'we're giving this album zero' scores really.
Not expecting much to be fair. Probably some slow jams and maybe one good riff.
Having my first listen now.
Not going to spoil the review my giving my opinion here. What did you think?
You will find out what I thought tomorrow (unless Andrzej has lost my review)
because of a guilty conscience over the Travistan review or something. But they call Travistan ghastly, so I guess not!
their early records so likeable.
Aside from parts of 'Go And Get It' and 'White Collar/White Trash', there's barely a shadow of their former selves on show. Not that surprising; they've been vocal in trashing their previous approach as them being 'afraid of music' and Travis' conversational vocal delivery as being like 'hit with a confetti cannon of words' as if this were somehow a negative thing.
It's fair to say they were always going to make a 'grown up' record now their lives are shorn of their twenty-something anxiety, but to me the new record really suffers from the lyrical lobotomy and what I can only really describe as a musical vasectomy.
They sound like I never thought they would: schmaltzy!
BUT the bad lyrics get more jarring on every listen. In fact, having listened to the record for the first time since I wrote the review the other day I'd say it's already gone down to a 5/10.
Definitely not a grower...
this isn't very good is it?
i relistened to their other ones recently, blown away all over again.
