Has anyone done this? Mine's pretty run of the mill, but I wouldn't mind seeing what you lot could come up with.
anyway I plan to do mine tomorrow
I've totalled it all up and will be posting the results tomorrow
what do we think will win? Kid A? Aeroplane?
But I assume you were going to cut it down?
so i'll just chop some out from the lower reaches. There are loads of albums that would be in there that they have never reviewed, I had to add Progress Reform and Come Down With Me, which was surprising
realised there was a few things missing, and there still is really, but I've already spent way too much time procrastinating on something that doesn't matter at all
Mine will have quite a few crossovers
Going to use your list for a few new finds. Wrong Hammock record mind...
but given your list, noticed there's no Black Sheep Boy (Okkervil River). Just seemed to fit in perfectly
but the interface is impossibly tedious and time consuming. why can;t you just renumber them instead of moving them up. why doesn't it give you the same grid based view when you edit your list.

why have I started this....?
Look how far apart those posts are. why is the third one different? I only pressed the button once. me and the internet are going to have a falling out tonight, I can feel it.
But, I only ordered the top 10.
The rest are in no particular order (seriously, fuck that, it'd take me weeks and i'd never be fully happy with it).
I have somehow managed to accumulate 35 facebook likes on mine.
Is my taste really just THAT GOOD?
how have people seen your list?
I want to change some of it already, lists like this are impossible
Order has changed a bit over the week, but I think this is pretty much it now. Keep thinking that I'm missing something too...
Normally people just doing a top 10 means the obvious "safe" choices do well. With everyone putting 20-100 in, some more obscure ones might do well. Do you put them in some kind of order? Presumably they give more points to ones higher up, but I am not sure how I can put 100 wildly different LPs in even a vague order.
and I can't be arsed adding them. Plus I can't be arsed moving things into some kind of order. I shall see how bored I get before carrying on.
ordering it is...ugh
We have a lot of similar stuff. I forgot Wolf Eyes, would have had Burned Mind; Philip Jeck -
Sand, i made a mental note to look up Kensington Heights then forgot. Bah. It's too hard to remember it all!
You've reminded me to check out Life Without Buildings and A Winged Victory For The Sullen, both of which I've been slacking on.
I gave up any real sense of order at about 50. I think I got most of what keeps making me tick from those years.
very fucking difficult i must say
Super guitar band-centric and in rough order - http://peopleslist.pitchfork.com/list/27d2401d/
good 4 u
if you're still thinking of making a list, it will be easier to have the order down first on a piece of paper or something and then add the albums in order on the survey. As everyone says, moving them around is a huge pain.
making it on iTunes
I'm going to resist the temptation to try and make a varied and interesting list and go for my actual favourites.
It just looks my iTunes library :/
I'm probably just being dumb. I like how you did 47, no nice round numbers for this cowboy.
Maybe you really do share my name (never met another before)
Very guitar heavy and quite a few reissues. Posted my actual favourites though - no Neutral Milk Hotel. They have to be 9/10 or 10/10 to make the cut for me. (unless it's The King of Limbs).
Having to add the majority of albums myself as Pitchfork haven't reviewed them. Pretty pointless.
Will probably get it up to 100 by the end of the day.
Most of the stuff I'd had to add is heavy shit to be fair, if anything I'm too \m/
thought that was relatively well known when it came out.
which got BNM this year, so who knows.
So albums that came out this year aren't included
take that P4k
Wish they had more albums in their database. Probably could have done 100 of just stuff released before 2000 but I got tired of adding stuff, like stated above.
Top 10 is fairly in order, a jumbled bag after that.
I only have 2 of those in mine which is here https://peopleslist.pitchfork.com/list/8cc6978f/, I guess our tastes have little in common
favorite indie records, Menomena - Friend and Foe.
also they've got the second crystal castles album cover showing, which makes me think that's what they think i've voted for when i meant the first album. seems like they should have accounted for that happening, given they're both called 'crystal castles'
I should have put 'Crystal Castles 1' to break it.
So no loveless. Plus I think it'll be quite different anyway...last year the readers list of albums in 2011 was remarkably similar to ranking the albums by P4K review score (was very sad to see). Imagine this list to follow a similar pattern.
But the edit thing was nigh on fucking impossible, so it's not in order, plus the order will most likely change from day, and in fact the contents, I'm that fickle.
Christ! I have too much time on my hands http://peopleslist.pitchfork.com/list/0c60a155/?fb_action_ids=10151161622616061&fb_action_types=og.likes&fb_source=timeline_og&action_object_map=%7B%2210151161622616061%22%3A10151037255677825%7D&action_type_map=%7B%2210151161622616061%22%3A%22og.likes%22%7D&action_ref_map=%5B%5D
how do you cull and order thousands of great records?
also noticed one of you included 'Icky Metal' (1994, they reviewed the re-release) and other had 'Nah Und Fern' (four records!), which irked me a bit.
and even then from 75 on i could take or leave alot of em. not that hard
can't be bothered changing it though
that nobody here actually likes any music
