Best Kylie song
What am I thinking? no one here likes Kylie, do they? this thread's going down like a lead balloon.
Anyway:
1. Confide in Me
2. Breathe
3. Can't Get You Out of My Head
4. Light years
5. Did It Again
I could keep going, but I'll throw it over to the void for further nominations.
NB: anyone who says Locomotion will be subject to relentless ban requests (Goatmeat, I'm looking at you!)

Gwen Stefani
Kylie Minogue
Am I allowed to choose the one she did with Nick Cave?
sure, if you wanna squander your chance to pick a Robbie Williams duet
then go for it
Tough question.
I can't choose just one, so I'll say I Believe In You and Come Into My World and In Your Eyes.
'80s Kylie is naff, though.
Oh sure
Kylie begins with Rhythm of Love for me: Shocked, What Do I Have to Do?, Better the Devil You Know — great tracks.
Maybe it's my inner fag-hag
but I really dig the whole Fever album. Title track, Come Into My World, Burning Up, More, More, More would be my favourites.
Confide in Me is obviously a good shout too.
Fever has the advantage of having CGYooM
and Come Into My World and Fever are solid too, but I have to admit to not loving it as much as others. A run of consistently good singles notwithstanding, it marked the beginning of her decline to my ears.
Impossible Princess is her masterpiece as far as I'm concerned.
Give It to Me's not too bad too
Too many Australians in this thread...
1) German Bold Italic
2) Confide In Me
3) Some Kind Of Bliss
4) Limbo
5) Someday
Can't wait for the Ashes when the world will be turned right again.
Got an intimate knowledge of the singing budgie's back catalogue I notice, Pento.
Yup, if there are two good things to have come out of Australia it's...
...Kylie and
.
.
.
...I got nothing else.
...and Natalie Imbruglia (for pop), INXS (pop-rock), Cut Copy (electronic) and AC/DC (rock)
I can't wait for the ashes either especially if you lot keep picking Shaun Marsh
Plays better overseas
without the eyes of the nation upon him.
Hmmm, that may not work for the Ashes.
if we're going for collabs, then I nominate
Gerling's (ft. Kylie) G-House Project.
The One!
can't believe no one's said The One yet.
I've only listened to X about twice
so I've kinda missed it. Listening now I should give it another go.
Is Confide In Me the one where she gets naked in a spaceship?
That one was good. The other one she did in her seriousface faze that was good.
Slow was quite good.
Spinning Around is probably the best though.
That's Put Yourself in My Place
I don't really rate it, and I'm not a huge fan of Spinning Around, either.
Slow is a top top song, though.
I base it on whether she's fanciable in the video
why settle for one, when you can have your pick from four?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hpQ9gNklzEw
^ that's the one I was thinking of
dat video ...
Which is the one where she has sex with a kitchen table
wearing a brown and white spotty dress?
That one probably.
seriously guys
Love At First Sight, clearly
Love at First Sight is good, sure
but hardly compares to the majesty of Come Into My World.
...
1) Confide In Me
2) Slow
3) Chocolate
^ this, but Red Blooded Woman in place of 'Chocolate'.
Probably between:
1) Love at first sight
2) In my arms
3) I believe in you
4) Can't get you out of my head
5) Slow
And this is the best remix (but the 9 minute cut is better):
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ph_i4gZENTs
1) Red blooded women
2) I believe in you
3) Slow
Confide in Me is a good shout
I also really like Love At First Sight and Slow as well though.
I Believe In You
end of thread
sigh...
I Believe In You is actually wonderful, you are correct...BUT Better the Devil you Know is the right answer. Any fans of "Indie Kylie" though, is that one she did with the Manics worth persuing?
She really has given Queen Madge some sleepless nights in the last fifteen years or so, eh? And... still would, obviously.
It wasn't terrible
But like most indie / pop of that era, it wasn't great either...
seriously can't believe that you're calling Impossible Princess "not that great"
It's quality all the way through. Not a single dud track.
Mrs Mortdecai believes Madge is now trying to channel Kylie.
That was her opinion after watching her on Graham Norton the other night. Wouldn't surprise me, she seems hell bent on ingratiating herself to the British populace.
Some Kind of Bliss is excellent
I Don't Need Anyone less so.
YES! Impossible Princess*
It's her best album by far! Cannot believe anyone who likes Kylie could have managed never to listen to it: Did It Again, Breathe, Cowboy Style, Say Hey, Some Kin of Bliss... just some of the many superb tracks from the album. It is, seriously, one of the top 40 best albums ever produced.
*I think it had a different name in the UK because of the whole Diana thing happening about a month before the album was released.
I should be so lucky
of course! Am I kidding? I am not kidding.
right era
wrong song.
All the Lovers
Proper euphoric pop.
*goes off in search of remixes*
grr, mis-post
Might be a mispost but this remix of All the Lovers
is proper huge:
http://open.spotify.com/track/0RIij7hg5am0PeF5fUDxjv
THE LOCOMOTION
chugga chugga.
Am I really the only one? Not even in anyone's top 5's?! Just listen to it.
Number 2 is Confide In Me.
don't know
why this posted here. I definitely pressed Reply to this thread.
my wife has been a kylie fan from the beginning
including Locomotion, but I don't think even she would pick it as Kylie's best
Confide In Me, Where The Wild Roses Grow and Slow are all great songs but it has to be a remix off Boombox.... 'Can't Get Blue Monday Out Of My Head'
Did she play that at the Brits??
very... vague... memories from when I was 14... slowly permeating
Slow
Radio-Slave remix. (12" was worth buying just for the picture)
I got to be certain
is also massively under valued
Can't Get You Out of My Head
fairly obviously, though I endorse JohnM's post.
Chocolate
definately
spelling error #22
fix for like the 40th time
oops fucking autofill
just a normal FIX
hmm
1. In My Arms
2. Confide In Me
3. I Believe In You
4. Wow
5. Love At First Sight
Can't remember what it's called...
but I've got it on blue vinyl with a gatefold sleeve, limited 100 presses. It's the b-side to the second release(first was crap) on that independent label out of Woolongomobong before she signed to PWL. Everything after that is shit, preferred her earlier stuff, anyone who thinks otherwise is a knob.
Still does, um, something:
www.youtube.com/watch?v=AYAXexfyt28
It's high noon on my sundial
for some reason the first song that comes to mind is
Fever, it's pretty simplistic but totally brilliant.
Proper lass with proper tunes.
The best video she did was that Agent Provocateur ad where she's riding a mechanical bull in her undies:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VgX8gOV4x6w
Jesus fucking christ almighty. If there's anything sexier than that out there then I want to see it NOW.
fix?
pretty sure...
...'I Should Be So Lucky' was the first seven inch i bought, aged very young indeed.
regardless, its terrible. best ones are:
1.Where The Wild Roses Grow
2.Confide In Me
3.CGYOOMH
4.Spinning Round
5.can't remember any others. would have to research. probably not going to tho.
I don't mind the murder ballad
but I don't rate it that highly. I wouldn't even peg it as her best collaboration.
perhaps...
...its my thing for Nick Cave which puts it there. i remember when it came out tho - had quite an impact - nobody had seen Kylie like that before. first signs suggesting the variances to come.
meanwhile, it was rude to suggest i'm not going to research further. whats the point of reading these threads if you ignore the good advice being given? jumping into a few tracks mentioned above now.
YOUR DISCO NEEDS YOU
Breathe
(single version)
fucking great song
find it hard to pick a favourite from Impossible Princess, but if push came to shove it would probably be Breathe.
(But then, how can I do that to Say Hey and Did It Again?)
I'm not a Kylie fan, I like some of her songs but "Breathe" is quite special. The music video is great too.
You should try the album
if any of her stuff is going to appeal to you, it would be that album.
ok
Listened to it. The album is actually good. "Breathe" is still the highlight.
"Too Far" is also great.
it's a great album
"Breathe" and "Did It Again" are the two tracks to beat, but I reckon you'll soon be thinking of "Say Hey" as a highlight too.
Seriously one of my favourite albums of all time.
Say Hey is also excellent.
I like esp. Breathe, Too Far, Did It Again, Say Hey, I Don't Need Anyone, Through the Years, Limbo. Too Far is one of the sexiest songs ever. The first 4 songs mentioned are really the best on this album.
Thanks for recommendation. Indie Kylie is the best version of Kylie. ;)
Also I love Confide in Me but mostly
For the awesome version they do on the Priscilla stage show
I Believe in You is a wonderful song.
As is that one that the bloke from the manics wrote.
Some Kind of Bliss
or, maybe, I Don't Need Anyone (but more likely the former).
Kylie would have made a great indie-pop ice-queen if she's continued down the Confide In Me/Wild Roses route
Not that she's not made some great, 'pure' pop in the meantime but it's starting to cloy a bit now. Bring back indie Kylie.
funny
whenever I saw your username in the past it would always set "Limbo" off in my head... "LIM-BO. Lost in limbo. LIM-BO-O. Limbo, limbo".
Two Hearts
Guilty pleasure.
1) Little Baby Nothing (live)
2)Confide in Me
3) Any other music video on mute
Slow
1. Breathe
2. Did It Again
3. In Your Eyes
4. Slow
5. Too Far
6. Love at teh First Sight
*the (damn keyboard!)
chemical brothers remix of slow
All the Lovers is an amazing track.
I also like Slow, I Believe in You, and all the cheese.
