Lana Del Ray's new album has leaked
And it's possibly the best pop album I've heard in years.
Disappointed that National Anthem has lost the edgy guitar though, the demos of that song rocked

it's absolutely horrendous
admittedly, i wasn't really a fan but i was not expecting the level of cheese nearly every track produces.
It's going to be really bad no doubt
but I'm downloading it just to be sure.
Hasn't grabbed me quite like the unreleased LP
But Blue Jeans is awesome, obv.
Lots of strings, and not in a Jeff Buckley fantastic way. Like the over-produced kinda way. Still, she's got that sultry voice...
7/10
Radio
is the keeper; just flat out fantastic. i can't imagine if you like pop music in any way at all that you wouldn't think it was absolutely incredible.
^This
I think it's a very well produced album, reminiscent of a lot of high-end hip-hop albums, and she consistently sounds interesting through-out. Great lyrics too.
high-end hip-hop albums
genuinely not sure what you mean by this
*Rey
Uh sorry, that's a bit embarrassing
What is the deal with her, seriously?
feels like some injoke that i am not in on. am i missing something?
Care to expand on this?
What makes you think there's some kind of joke to be had?
i heard her song video games
and it sounds like a novelty song. but people are jizzing their pants everywhere for her as some sort of grand new artist. why?
Because they've since heard her other songs
and she's great. Video Games isn't even her best song.
Because since then she's released
some great songs. Video Games isn't even her best song.
how does Video Games sound like a novelty song?
wtf
it's just really great pop
ffs sean, fix the fucking quote issue. must be a 2-minute job.
all our funds for developer time
have gone into completely rebuilding the back-end of the site so that we can have a new website. the new site is far less hung together with sticky tape, and when things do go wrong, will be far easier to figure out WHY.
fucking pisses me off too btw!
most annoying phrase
DiSappointed when we gave it a first play at work yesterday
Was expecting a little more 'oomf', just trawls along depressingly. Probably give it another spin or two on Monday/Tuesday then bury it back in the A-Z where it belongs.
Yeah I agree with you on that
a lot of the original mixes featured guitars at the front which have since been replaced with strings unfortunately, which makes it a bit repetitive in places. The second half of the album is definitely a lot weaker than the first.
I'll have to track those down
I *want* to like it, just a little underwhelmed by it all. Went for grandiose when I was hoping it'd be a little bit quirky.
someone pm me a link?
accidentally downloaded 'Born To Die' by Grand Funk Railroad 3 times in the past 24 hours
The wild, shirtless lyrics of Mark Farner?
The bong-rattling bass of Mel Schacher? The competent drum work of Don Brewer?

bit of a weird Glasvegas comparison in that review....
are they some kind of benchmark for something?
Chance of finding any reviews that don't feel the need to waffle about her image or backstory or similar bullshit?
<5%?
Definitely zero
Writer was keen to leave all the preamble in the past
We all know it, so why blather on about it?
And I appreciate his efforts in doing so.
Pitchfork prediction?
8.1

Got to get the blogs back onside somehow.
8.1 for sure
that's the standard score for disappointing albums that have been hyped up. the last time they backlashed a hyped band's debut was black kids and everybody shat their tits over it.
Shat their tits?
What does this actually look like?
7.0
Just listened to it a couple of times.
And I think it's pretty good. I am not suggesting that she has revolutionised music or anything, but she is a good songwriter and a more than capable singer.
Wouldn't be the same without
our daily Lano Dull Ray thread, whatever it takes to make her "the most hotly contested and blogged about new artist of 2012" or whatever will adorn the press release.
FUCK OFF FUCK OFF FUCK OFF FUCK OFF FUCK OFF FUCK OFF FUCK OFF FUCK OFF FUCK OFF FUCK OFF FUCK OFF FUCK OFF FUCK OFF FUCK OFF FUCK OFF OUT OF MY FACE.
I've leaked all over Lana Del Rey's new album
*lip
On first listen
Radio is the true stand out thus far (asides from the singles) it's fantastic... as for the album it'll either get tiresome real quick or get better on repeat listen... it's all very well made but I can see it getting tiresome rather quick but thus far I'm not disappointed a very solid collection of songs. Definitely one of the better pop albums at least
odd
'Radio' was the one I most disliked. Sounded like Uffie in a coma.
Not being sneery
but does anyone know which song(s) David Sneddon wrote for it?
Listened too it on the way to work this morning...
After initially thinking the first couple of tracks showed some promise the rest of the album then just felt a bit flat and dull. I'll give it a few more listens over the weekend in case it's a grower but I don't think I'll be rushing out to buy it when it's released.
hilarious
to leak this and title it as FUCKLDRBTD
i like the one feat. David Guetta
