is this a triple album or a compilation? what kind of music is it?
I bought it about two years ago and I'm still absorbing it
I've tried a few times recently to get through it one sitting, but it really is too much :) Next time I'm on a long haul flight, i'm gonna nail it as I zone in and out of conciousness.
Bonkers to think it's the same guy behind the sheer insanity of V/VM. How much has chilled out?
In conclusion then, I've nothing to add to the thread topic.
And You're Wondering How a Top Floor Could Replace Heaven
'Okay, I believe you, but my Tommy Gun don't' is also truly ridiculous
'Mon the Kinsellas
Women Who Love Men Who Love Drugs (Oceansize)
That Summer, at Home I Had Become the Invisible Boy (Twilight Sad)
Our Happiest Days Slowly Began To Turn Into Dust (Red Sparowes)
Lonely as the Sound of Lying on the Ground of an Airplane Going Down (Silver Mt Zion)
although that's a few songs segued together I think from the wonderfully titled 'He Has Left Us Alone but Shafts of Light Sometimes Grace the Corner of Our Rooms…' album
which features several favourites...
1. You and Me - Inevitable
2. I Flooded You with My Love
3. What Sets You Apart?
4. There is No Lyric for the Music of You
5. We Took Our Love Outside
6. Feline, Wild and Domesticated
7. I Am A Fool
8. Ocean! Greet My Love!
9. Darling, It's Time
10. The Secret Places
1. I Want You for My Wife
2. So That Now Remains Forever
3. Your Mouth Shaping Demands of One Syllable
4. The Anatripsis of Love
5. We Climbed Yesterday's Stairway
6. That Eternal Whore, Time
7. The Eternal Instant of Our Parting
8. Couples, I Do Not Envy Them
9. I Reside in Hell
10. Will the Windows Continue to Mock Me?
Our Tears Help the Flowers Grow
TIRUMPH FOR MY MAGIC STEEL
DARGOR THE SHADOW LORD OF THE BLACK MOUNTAIN
SACRED POWER OF RAGING WINDS
They're all ridiculous. A sample:
And by Our Own Hand Did Every Last Bird Lie Silent in Their Puddles, the Air Barren of Song as the Clouds Drifted Away. For Killing Their Greatest Enemy, the Locusts Noisily Thanked Us and Turned Their Jaws Toward Our Crops, Swallowing Our Greed Whole.
Don't They Have Payphones Wherever You Were Last Night?
You Ruined Everything That Was Ever Good
Documented Minor Emotional Breakdown #1
but yeah the winner has to be "Last Night I Dreamt Somebody Loved Me" - I mean the title, the song, the singing - it's so overly dramatic
"The Black Hawk War, or, How to Demolish an Entire Civilization and Still Feel Good About Yourself in the Morning, or, We Apologize for the Inconvenience but You're Going to Have to Leave Now, or, I Have Fought the Big Knives and Will Continue to Fight Them Until They Are Off Our Lands!"
"Out of Egypt, into the Great Laugh of Mankind, and I Shake the Dirt from My Sandals as I Run"
He's probably being all ironic & playful or whatever, but you know, fuck off twat.
A Small Turn of Human Kindness
Death Goes to the Winner
After All I've Done for You, This Is How You Repay Me?
My Broken Heart Will Never Mend
One Of Us Cannot Be Wrong
I just want to go home
I am sick of all this too
I know this is no place for you
I alone got up and left
I know this is all my fault
and my favourite 'I did not call out'
Liars - They Threw Us All In A Trench And Stuck A Monument On Top
and with my one last gasping breath I'd apologise for bleeding on your shirt
Mental Caverns Without Sunshine is a particular favourite, and The Sublime Is Disappointingly Elusive.
Last weeks minutes from the meeting of the secret society of your friends who actually hate you
A Little Late He Staggered Through the Door and Into Her Eyes
Reinventing the wheel to run myself over.
Master of the Bump (Kurt Stumbaugh, I Can Feel the Soil Falling Over My Head)
Dear God I Hate Myself
