the one who were around about ten years ago
pretty good, right?
seeing the new releases yesterday, I thought 'Is that them?'
Think I liked the album at the time but can't remember why. Wasn't the singer on Later... with 2 mics?
Twenty Twenty Sound is still one of my very favourite albums, and every time someone mentions the new Dark Star I get a little bit sad.
both got interviews, and both spend the entire time talking about this record. neither of us got the job. our price went bankrupt. i think we can see a pattern here.
Twenty Twenty Sound is great... There's supposed to be an unreleased second album floating around the internets somewhere, but i've never managed to find it.
One of my favourite album covers too.
Thank you so much!
Like I'm burning out for you, I'm centrifugal
I AM THE SUUUUUN
Fond memories of Twenty Twenty Sound and it's hilariously nonsensical lyricisms. Their second unreleased album leaked on the nets a couple of years back, but I don't think it was in a finished state; unmastered or some such. It's pretty good though. I wish they were still going.
fronted by a man named Bic Hayes who was ex Levitation and my fave band of all time, Cardiacs. This thread has inspired me to play the album later and I now have 'I am the Sun' on constant repeat in my brain. Great drummer also.
yeah, i saw them support Mansun, I think.
released ridiculously small vinyl singes? Think I have one somewhere and it was quite good. So it's not them who have the new album out then?
Hilariously, I've never actually played it, because the stylus arm always moves back before you can get it far enough over.
Boo. I do have the album on CD though and it's nice and meaty in places.
disappointed that the cooper temple clause were supporting muse in southampton rather than dark star. this may or may not have happened. did they support muse just before origin of symmetry was released?
it was a tour in March/April 2001-ish, I saw it in Cambridge
not sure where my copy of the album is these days.
Need for Not by Levitation was on Spotify last time I looked. Dark Star were better, but that one is also worth a listen.
Saw them quite a few times, including supporting the Longpigs at Exeter Uni. As well as Twenty Twenty Sound, the Graceadelica EP was a fantastic piece of work.
really intense. their b'sides were awesome, you can make a decent album out of these and Zurich the 2nd lp sounds great. shame it was never completed / released.
Henry Beckett was great.
I got 2 or 3 of em at home if I remember rightly. Love em! Would say I'll give em a spin later but I'm turntable-less at present. Nice to be reminded though...will play catch up next time I visit me parents.

Only have 7 tracks. Now I feel cheated...
this album released someday...
