Sounding quite sviib-like, which suits me just fine.
bit too 'light' for my liking. hasn't got the darker elements of the first album so far. perhaps a little too... i don't know. will report back...
I think I've figured my grievance. It sounds too much like it was produced in the vein of recent Chemical Brothers stuff, which is a bad thing. And I say that being a massive Chemical Brothers fan.
and a little more beef to the noise.
But overall, it doesn't seem a massive departure from the first album. Seeing as massive departures usually leave me unimpressed, I'm reasonably satisfied with what I've heard.
I only got to track 3 and I've given in to a hankering for the first Elbow album.
Will give it a full listen through but on (the little) I've heard it hasn't got the weird darkness I loved about them.
As an aside OH MY GOD THEY'RE BEAUTIFUL (not in that photo so much, but even the guy is hot in real life)
and when I realised these were very high bitrate, I stopped at about track 4. Am going to give it a thorough listening tonight.
And, yes, they sure do count amongst the beautiful people.
But they seem to be doing well.
I loved Secret Machines until Ben left with all the tunes...
Is this project as good?
and then I thought "why am I listening to the Cranberries?" and then remembered and was a bit diappointed.
certainly the track after Babelonia is weak.
Cranberries, though, is a bit harsh...
now looks like one of those 80's wannabe chumps who are everywhere at the mo... When's this 80's thing gonna pass and will it be back to ripping off the 90's again once it does pass? The return of Grunge? Then Britpop again?
I like this more than the debut.
