how spotify works. Am i being simple or are artist just getting completely bumfucked by it?
How much is a great mystery, estimates vary between $0.03 to $0.0005 per song.
giving away peoples music to subsidise big record companies i think if it lasts it will be more harmful than illegal downloading
I can't remember which band it was, but I remember someone saying that they'd never seen a penny from Spotify plays in reality despite the fact their back catalogue was on there. If that's the case it really doesn't seem that fair...something will be done about it over time surely?
say radio 1 played a lady gaga song, that'd be heard by millions (and I think it is taken into account by the PRS or whoever) but I dont think it'd be as much as that, but then again, when people have actively seeked out the music is it different? Dunno, but itll be an interesting few years to see how they sort it out.
could you play your own song loads of times, so you can get royalties from it?
just leave that fucker on repeat
