Spotifriday - join in with this week's theme
Hi All,
As you know, DiS does a weekly playlist of our content every friday, using Spotify, which we like to call Spotifriday (archived here: http://drownedinsound.com/lists/spotify ). Lots of you have also taken to making a weekly playlist.
So that the idea carries on and to encourage more people to join in, we thought we'd start setting themes for Spotifriday. The first theme is: 2000.
That can be a playlist with your favourite songs from the year 2000, songs that described it, lyrics that feature "2000", etc
As a quick reminder, here's what were MetaCritic's aggregated albums of 2000: http://www.metacritic.com/music/bests/2000.shtml - anyone got any other year end lists from around that time? DiS had only just started and I can't find a year end list for that year but am sure we did one with At the Drive-In, QotSA, Elliott Smith, etc...
Make your playlist and post it here or tweet it tagged #spotifriday @drownedinsound tomorrow. Simplez.
Sean

rather than just count up from 2000-2009, suggest some theme ideas for us too.

hey sean i hate to be a negative nancy
but these themed lists strike me as really anoraky and pointless.
would it not be a better idea to get people to put on stuff they reckon other people mightn't have heard of, obscure bands and the like, rather than putting on some alien ant farm song that mentions the year 2000?
or whatever, carry on
yeah
probably.
