has this been posted already? whatever, if so.
and loved it, what with it being Popjustice and all...and yet somehow, I have no urge to listen to it. How odd.
if you're up for the challenge
and give it a whirl tonight.
but isn't this a barrel/ fish situation?
he's COVERED MCFLY THE CUNT HOW DARE HE!!
By the way, is this real:
made me lol
I am in love with kelly clarkson quite a lot...
but for me its actually quite a sad situation. I heard an interview with him a couple of days ago on radio 2. He was trying to make out that he and his producer had made loads of artistic decisions etc. but it was clear that whoever is in charge came in and said "get me an album as quick as you can, even if its rubbish". He was telling the interviewer all about his dreams about making a second album of his own songs, when clearly everyone around him is hoping to make a quick profit on the back of the hype and then dump him soon after. The really sad bit is that he has dropped out of his GCSE year and also hasn't seen his friends for months. Its going to be for absolutely nothing.
I should say though that the songs really are as atrocious as this article makes out. They clearly got someone to go over the Busted and Mcfly albums to quickly copy all the synth parts, because at least to me they all sounded wrong. His voice is also atrocious. Perhaps for the reasons discussed above, its been heavily vocal corrected. But even this can't disguise the fact he can't hit any of the high notes in any of the songs. Perhaps he could with practice but I guess they did them all in one take.
In summery, bad songs, worse management. I feel sorry for him :-(.
he'll make a ton of money from idiots buying this shit, although it will only be for a short while I suppose. No-one's forcing him to make music this shit, but he's decided to cash in on his 15 minutes instead of develop his career properly so I've got no sympathy
and while no-one is forcing him to make shit music they are clearly exploiting his dream of making it big as a pop artist.
I'm not convinced I'd have made reasoned, logical decisions about stuff like this at that age. Especially not with all the 'advice' he'll have been getting from X-Factor types.
but then again, it's not like he's had what would otherwise have been a stellar music career shot down in flames, it's hard to commit career-suicide when your career is naturally built around the life-cycle of a mayfly.
It's like he hates the record so much, he doesn't even know why...
That is a bad album. Year 3000 followed by Ben? They've managed to make the backing tracks even worse than when he sang those songs on Xfactor. It doesn't figure. Last year's winner just got dropped too. I actually feel sorry for these people.
Not too much though. I have now put on the new Mastodon to cleanse myself of this filth.
they certainly had more soul than this shit
I love Peter Robinson. I think he has that same honest bite that makes Pigfoot so damned alluring. Does he still do those interviews in NME? They were the best thing about it.
years ago he did a carlos santana interview that made me giggle.
Also the best one.
but the writing's a little clunky and it doesn't quite flow right.
Does anyone ever see 'Eoghan' and read it as 'Owen' in their head? I always pronounce it 'E-og-han' even when I'm reading to myself.
as a thick cough
It's probables wrong
Is how I have been saying it since x factor.
and pronounced it like 'Owen', so I always read it like that. As far as I'm concerned, Quigg is just doing it wrong.
Is my intenal pronounciation of choice.
Is how i always perceived it (wrongly).
i always see it as Egon...like the ghostbuster
(that's meant to be read as 'one').
made me LOL hard
that the people Peter Robinson was trying to humiliate in those pieces always somehow came out looking better than him. If that constitutes the best bit of the NME then it truly must be a big bag of shit. Which, of course, it is.
without thinking of Harry Hill's impersonation that he did of him, week after week.
contracts for pop musicians can contain some really fucked up things. such as a 3 year delay on royalties which only gets paid if certain criteria have been met (eg no one is allowed to leave the band)
he'll be getting paid a set fee i'd guess.
when they say on x factor "a £1 million record deal" it means that a million quid will be spent on the artist, so it includes all the advertising costs etc.
at least i think that's all fairly correct.
also, it's not the worst album ever. i dunno who wins that award but he doens't get it. if it was all original songs that were shit, then it might be.
also, on All About You, his voice sounds quite similar to whoever it is from McFly...
he didnt win
