ROCK AND ROLL'S JUST A RING ON YOUR FINGER
WHAT YOU WANT?
Like buying a house was ever sensible.
I really like The Difference Between Me And You Is That I'm Not On Fire, and I'm not even sure that was released (it's on the C-Sides disc of mcluskyism).
As much as I like Future of the Left, I can't help wishing mclusky were still around.
there are some whopping tunes on the second and third discs. Balbo's Theme, Cradling, Lost Consonants and Comeuppance, Come are all well weapon.
you haven't replied to me yet, so i'll try again. I LIVE IN BOOTHSTOWN TOO. yours sincerely, your DiS stalker and fellow mclusky fan.
'The Difference Between Me And You Is That I'm Not On Fire'
What a player!
with tall prostitutes.
and after the scenery there's nothing to steal.
gather by the seashore
GET GOD, GET GIDDY
YOU'RE MOVING TO THE CITY,
YOU'RE MOVING TO THE CITY COS YOUR VILLAGE IS SHIT!
Pass through park gates.
Zeroes and threes.
Save me altavista they've got cauliflower ears.
Still I haven't seen the sun or moon for twenty-seven years.
She wants to dance on burning bridges.
Making patterns in the snow.
I want to move to Mexico where everyone's a hero.
Can;t beat that
love the fuzzy bass
Stop killing prostitutes...
Thanks fuck for Future Of The Left existing tho. Phew....
when they played it live?
Just get everything by mclusky, Do Dallas is a great start point though.
What he said. I'm jealous of someone about to discover mclusky for the first time. Do Dallas is best, though you could get the albums in any order really.
this is true
keep your hands inside the bus failed dictator
these are examples of mind over matter,
turn, or be turned!
FUCK YOU, BECAUSE EVERYONE'S A HERO!
Lada lada lada HEY! No Covers, No Covers, No Covers, NO COVERS!
LIGHT ENTERTAINMENT IS WATERTIGHT!
'Cassanova' and 'leaning forward' are good
only keep FOTL or mclusky, I'd keep FOTL.
They're the band I once hoped Shellac would be, if that makes any sense at all...
just more consistent.
I love the bass and wit of Shellac, but their albums are so goddamn patchy. 'Curses' is a better record than anything mclusky or Shellac have done I think
And I completely agree.
I have to say, I thought the follow up to 1000 Hurts would be different than it was.
i suppose the b-side is a dying breed now really isn't it?
i can't do anything right
from the 3rd cd of Mcluskyism today at work and laughed out loud in a quiet office during the heckling section.
"the habit that kicks itself"
not only are mclusky truly one of the greatest bands of recent times, they also incorperate the best song titles into their work.
world cup drumming is possibly my fave song.
WE WANT OUR JOBS BACK
even a lot of the songs on the 'c-sides' disc of mcluskyism (the one that gets most heavily slagged in the liner notes) are fucking excellent
she sits by your cornflakes,
and waits for the gravy train!!!!!!!
