their songs are intentionally rubbish, right? and that's why they're good, right?
no sebadoh i've ever heard comes across as trying to be intentionally rubbish.
fantastic band, get a grip.
the last song is *really* rubbish.
i've always really struggled to see what people see in them, which is strange cos i really like Lou Barlow when he's in Dinosaur Jr and some of his acoustic stuff is nice.
just sounds like good songs played and recorded really ineptly.
Soul And Fire is straight up beasticles.
the last song on III IS shit.
but surely you don't think the same about the song before?
gives me goosebumps everytime. The whole III album is really exceptional IMO, very schizophrenic, complex and just some fantastic songs, every one steering you into a wildly different mood to the one before, and yet it still hangs together as one wild ride. Give it a few more listens (or give it to a friend...)
lo-fi production on early sebadoh stuff.
Personally I think bakesale and haramcy are choc full of solid gold tunes.
'On Fire' from Harmacy as a good song for getting them, it got me into them. Brilliant song.
and also 'ocean' is poptastic.
hang on daniel, i thought your thing 'on fire' was named after the sebadoh song...! i'm wrong then.
Liars, Blood Brothers, Galaxie 500, Bruce Springsteen...
I hear them like it buy a cd and its rubbish, probably my own fault for getting the freed weed and some loobiecore sentridoh cd deemed so rubbish to not even be worthy of the sebadoh name. I much prefer the folk implosion, not the new folk implosion though they are the worst thing ever.
listen to Crystal Gypsy or Mind Reader or Can't Give Up and rock the fuck out.
Bakesale and Harmacy don't suffer from poor production and are exceptionally sweet albums.
You know, 'sweet' as in great.
for my favourite band. III is their best 'sloppy' album and 'Harmacy' is their best polished one in my book. Both absolutely exceptional...
You're joking, right?
Beauty Of The Ride is so, SO good it hurts. Soul And Fire is beautiful. Other things.
I don't get it.
