'I Wish I Was A Girl' - oh. dear.
this thread was inspired by finding a copy of their album in kentish town cash converters earlier on.
where jamie summers' attempts at humour end up.
get given pride of place in the ROFLarder
make sense then.
i'm going for dinner now.
'I've got V.D.'
is doing a degree in brighton, my friend shared a wonderful story where he said "yeah we played a gig with the deftones" so my friend asked him what band he was in. loling followed. (but, playing a gig with deftones, quite cool)
and thought "now there's a name I havent heard in ages!"
The singer is only two years older than me :(
"Violent Delight performed one last farewell gig on 10 November 2006, to a sell-out crowd at the Camden Barfly, London. Since then there has been rumours of the band getting together again. Violent Delight got back together in 2007, after their "farewell" gig"
i got dragged to that gig as my good friend knows their singer. It was so bad it wasnt actually funny.
apparently they're supporting Haudoken next year! ahah
least likely comeback ever?
the old jetplane landing site had some tour diaries on it. one of them was written after a gig where violent delight support them. jetplane totally tored them apart.
also, megalolz on their myspace (http://www.myspace.com/violentdelightOfficial)
"4. WE DON'T KNOW IF WE ARE STILL SIGNED TO WARNER BROTHERS OR NOT BECAUSE WE NEVER RECEIVED ANY NOTIFICATION TELLING US OTHERWISE. THEY JUST STOPPED RETURNING OUR CALLS."
Listening back to it, its incredibly cringeworthy.
apparently the main reason they're reforming is so the drummer doesnt get deported.
my favourite thread of today. I saw them at MDH, can't remember who they supporting....
at a Subverse show when I was a bairn. The guy who ran a site I used to write for was good friends with their guitarist...seems like everyone here knew them somehow!
I'd so nearly forgot about this band's existence. Oh well. I remember seeing them at the Pioneer in St Albans, it was well scary/rubbish. Tom's a nice guy, but their singer seems like a bit of a twat. How on Earth did they get signed?!
was a dark time.
Shamefully, the only thing I can remember about this band is that they were funny.
Seriously, I'm chuckling right now and I don't know why.
I didn't realise they were from London. I always thought they were one of America's embarrasments..
