it does come out tomorrow doesn't it? do you reckon it will be up for DL before work? I'm bludddddy excited
and seventy gazillion people will try at the same time and the site will crash.
leave it until after work..
everyone will try
they'd have to be totally thick to have not anticipated this and have a good few dedicated servers in place to deal with the demand.
mind you radiohead are renowned for their workmanlike stupidity....
do you remember when they did the ticket presale for their UK tour through their own website?
yeah, exactly ;)
I was asleep in bed.
and i had no problems though
else is refreshing like made at midnight tonight?!
will probably have crashed too. It was slow enough when the announcement was made.
About 11 am tomorrow morning for the inevitable upload link after I've fallen ou of bed, had a bath, read some e-mails, etc.
Not excited yet.
Just played 2+2=5 very loud.
it's a lot better than i remember.
i've not actually preordered the album, should i bother?
on unofficial places, so i can shout "LOOK, I TOO CAN MAKE A WORTHLESS, LABOURED POINT!" at my monitor while listening to it.
so i can get it iPodded up before work and have a little listen during the day. I can't have people talking about it all day when i can't. I need to be in the loop goddammit
ironically coldplay-esque. They've all got kids and have "mellowed" out too much. Too many piano ballads, all be it fantasticly written songs, just not as much sonic innovation as usual.
Not enough jonny greenwood.
Last ever radiohead album.
nothing in my emails yet...
paid more than £0.00 for it?? And is there any difference, really, between me downloading it from the (probably) massively overloaded In Rainbows site, or just getting it from a torrent?
THANK YOU FOR ORDERING IN RAINBOWS. THIS IS AN UPDATE.
YOUR UNIQUE ACTIVATION CODE(S) WILL BE SENT OUT TOMORROW MORNING (UK TIME). THIS WILL TAKE YOU STRAIGHT TO THE DOWNLOAD AREA.
HERE IS SOME INFORMATION ABOUT THE DOWNLOAD:
THE ALBUM WILL COME AS A 48.4MB ZIP FILE CONTAINING 10 X 160KBPS DRM FREE MP3s.
Cue complaints about the bitrate.
it would'ave been a piece of Machiavellian
genius to let people decide how much they paid, but then the people who bought it for £0.00 got it encoded at 1kbps
it will fit on my mp3 things with ease
and i'll be getting the cd in dec anyway
in its entirety.
not that i can get xfm at work, unless i buy a digital radio and listen to it that way, which i might do as i owe my mummy one
i was under the impression that Radiohead cared about production and the subtler aspects of sound. Apparently not. Either that or it's a big joke or statement on the nature of downloaded music, or maybe just an attempt to persuade more people to fork out for the luxury version. Or just something boring like bandwith concerns
either way, i'm glad i paid £0.00 for it
Our drummer was the graphic designer for the box set, true.
that is good
i have received no update, nothing!
anyone else the same?
it's DRM free.
but I've seen some places saying midnight (DiS included), and some saying 10am. Anyone know for definite when we can get our grubby mitts on it? 10am seems quite a specific guess/lie, so I imagine that's the right answer. I've got college all day tomorrow, I'd be pretty pissed if I couldn't get a listen in until after tea!
