'she said "you're pretty good with words, but words won't save your life"'
on tour ith art brut soon?1?!?!
AND it's an NME sponsered thing that shits all over the awful sponsered tours they offer here.
IMPOSTER. it was Loamiathon. i don't even know who hold steady are.
while listening to Hold Steady then. go on.
to go listen to them
Great lyrics indeed.
I've been trying to get people to call me Sunny D cos I've got the great stuff kids go for, but people keep calling me Five Alive.
Always nice to see a band who actually look happy to be there.
their performance at Reading was nothing short of euphoric, I literally had a tear in my eye
I remember we departed from our bodies.
"I've been trying to get people to call me freddy knuckles.
People keep calling me right said fred"
I've got really into this band of late, and I'm very happy that they're getting big, I love the amount that these guys seem to enjoy playing live.
Gigs where the bands just have a shitload of fun make for the best performances.
They mean they whaled on him 'til they killed him up in Penetration Park!
Fast, and with a multitude of casualties.
i need to reread On The Road...
is a fantastic album. What's their other stuff like?
and then Separation Sunday
I only have the first one but it's pretty much more of the same lyrically. Sonically it's a bit less diverse.
Almost Killed Me is more like the last one and a bit easier to get into, complete lyrical nonsense too which I like, check out Positive Jam.
Separation Sunday has their best riffs. It's a concept album about those Holly/Gideon/Charlemagne characters but he just steamrollers over the top of it with the shouty lyrics which gets a bit too much sometimes.
is their best album I reckon, (it's got most of their best songs on it anyway, Little Hoodrat Friend, Stevie Nix, Resurrection etc), and his delivery isn't any different on SS than on either of the other two, so to criticise it for his shouty lyrics is a bit odd...
