it should really end with Lucky, shouldn't it?
sorry to j greenwood for this.
fucking ages trying to decide on the track listing. dont knock it (i dont actually know)
I think it's a great way to end the album.
The flipside to this is to say they shouldn't have included Lucky on there at all as it was so much better known than the rest when the album came out it made that tricky.
The Tourist is a lovely way to end it.
Radiohead should have ended their career with Ok Computer
I'm a big fan of The Tourist.
My brother however, who with me thinks OK Computer is the best ever album, really doesn't like it.
So you're not alone
But even that has some good production ideas on it. It's just too long and a bit dull.
the tourist is not the strongest song on there, but it just kionda floats the album off, plus as with all their albums, it is a different type of song to all the others on the album.
leave ok computer alone
I just don't think The Tourist works well as an ending track. I can see the need for some kind of denouement after Lucky, I just don't think it works all that well in that context.
because you really are quite plainly wrong.
except you called Let Down dull.
It's mushy and lasts too long. It's all about the last verse but there's just far too much build up in there and it's vague.
It also just serves to make it take longer to get to ELECTIONEERING which is probably the greatest Radiohead song ever, after Just.
I like them all but Electioneering has a great lyric to it and a strange stop-start guitar rhythm that fucking OWNS. Great song.
It's a shame no DJ seemed to want to play it when the album came out as it's probably the easiest track off there to dance like a mentalist to.
is relatively dull...
but the tourist musically allows you to reflect on things a bit, and lyrically it's a better passing sentiment that you should take stock of things.
is one of my favourite tracks on the album. I remember singing along to it constantly as a teenager.
I agree about The Tourist; that and Subterranean Homesick Alien - the only songs on that album that aren't utterly amazing.
Lucky on the 'Help' album, ace as it is. I thought it was wierd to have it on both - I couldn't get past it when the album first came out. And drop 'Fitter, happier' obv.
and, amazingly, got wronger at the end.
on the Paranoid Android single should have replaced fitter, happier. It really would have been perfect then.
will everyone just leave ok computer alone. i love EVERY track on there.
Also the airbag ep is brilliant, and pearly works so well on there
also paranoid android cd1 is one of the most amazing singles ever!
just a thought.
Pearly is brills though
The star is part of the title.
Polyethylene OWNZ it anyway. As does Palo Alto.
polyethylene (parts 1 & 2) is one of my favourite Radiohead tracks this thread has made me realise how much i love mid nineties Radiohead
will they please stop pretting around in New York and release LP7
and I DO love Lucky (it might be my favourite Radiohead song), I think The Tourist is a better ending.
its why its not the best album ever. it nearly is. but the ending fucks it up a bit
It ends with a 'PING!'. If you don't like that, you're mentally ill.
