fucking incredible record
i've had the new one for three weeks but i've yet to listen to it..
its okay, but nothing special, if a LOT heavier. That having been said, i never felt that the fall of math rached any special highs, so perhaps im the wrong guy to ask.
the new one is a bit disappointing
it's a great album but the production is a bit flat, they'd be loads better with a really big expensive production to fit their more epic parts.
1) Fall of Math is fucking great. it is my favourite album EVA. unbeatable: this band is unstoppable etc
2) the new one is seriously under-rated in these parts, and everyone needs to give it another chance and actually listen to it, because it isnt as in-your-face obvious as the others, and requires patient listening, but is very rewarding and much more subtle an album. it has really grown on me.
sound fucking phenomenal too.
but can't help thinking that they don't move me nearly as much as they used to. also, i kind of hate the lead guitar sound live. when he's playing notes rather than chords it often sounds a bit off..
listening to fall of math driving round the Mojave... brillo
seeing as i've mentioned that i'm learning to drive on another thread...
One Time For All Time > Fall Of Math > Destruction Of Small Ideas
....but it's nothing compared to seeing them play. Which is the reason I've not bought another album by them since. Is One Time For All time worth it then? How does it compare in the key areas of glitchiness and number of jaw drops?
'65 Doesn't Understand You' easily fills those criteria. Definitely worth getting. But yeah I've seen them twice now, little underwhelmed the second time but still an awesome live band.
