...easily the least embarassing band to be mentioned in the "nu-metal" thread a while back (autonomy? the kennedy soundtrack!? hello!)
still not good at all:
actually go to the trouble of a) archiving one minute silence videos and b) uploading them onto youtube four years later.
those people scare me.
underneath my chair. it's been there a while. i've know this all along. have i moved it? no. will i move it? unlikely.
not a great day for my early musical credibility that once.
that tour was also with american head charge.
This is the fruits of their labour:-
...can't say I'm surprised, really.
buried someplace from my silly metal youth
with miocene, charger and vex red.
and someone like sugarcoma
power ballad type track with bongos on it?
yknow the ones you've been the next big thing for british metal since about 1998
i saw sugarcoma once with king prawn. the king prawn fans hated them, and one of them kept on heckling. the singer shouted "yeah, well, YOUR MUM!". hilarious.
THey're actually decent!
what the hell i was doing from ages 17 - last week.
which was the wrong thing to do
ANOTHER DAY ANOTHER DOLLAR!
FUCK THE RULES
i can still think of at least one club in newcastle that would still play oms
feed the brain, fight the fools!
ratm/psi-esque rebellion was a bit of a laugh back in the day but now it's a bit lame, not too embarassing though (yet). fish out of water was pretty fun though.
pitchshifter are clearly in it for the money (see: reforming about 1,000 times) and one minute silence were just a bit too funny to be taken seriously.
true, i used to really like pitchshifter back when i was young but man their reunion tour/s sucked so much ass.
i think OMS kind of ruined the whole IN YOUR FACE political shouty rock thing for me.
must suck being in a band that have a following and then going back to day jobs.
their early stuff is really rather fun, and the www.pitchshifter.com album has some fucking ace songs on it. good live band on occasion too! i'd say they're def far less embarrassing musically than OMS and a lot of other numetal because their electro elements were done so well
in no way describe pitchshifter as a nu metal band.
def. they were just an industrial band that got poppier, although you could say they tried to jump into the numetal scene a bit more with the deviant album (didnt work). the early stuff is heavy as FUCK.
nice guys too.
lots of glossy poppy moments on it.
for a band who were always touted as being ahead of their time a lot of pitchshifter sounds really dated now.
they were cracking live though, first band i ever went to see without a parent.
they seemed to go backwards, becoming more and more trad as they went on. deviant was ok, but psi was terrrrrrrible.
one of those hardcore bands like madball that only fat meatheads like. i do find it hilariopus that their singer has "STATE OF THE WORLD ADRESS" (sic) on his chest though. you'd think you'd spellcheck it before you got it done.
hahaha, that's brilliant.
because i spelt hilarious wrong.
"Mindless Self Indulgence (commonly referred to as MSI) are an American-based band. They describe their music as Industrial Jungle Punk music."
particular genre are fulfilled by merely reading the name.
list mr bungle in their influences are the worst type of bands on the entire planet
'i like my coffe black, just like my metal'
i doubt they have ever listened to Xasthur in their lives!
though i never saw them live as they only seemed to play the zodiac out of term time
i have fish out of water and holy man on a teen years compilation that i still listen to. bless...
I interviewed them at the tender age of 16. They though too much about sensationalist politics and the singer spent too much money on stupid big boots.
Is what I meant
when the band i roadied for was friends with them and breed 77 and they were very nice people and cracking live, it's just it hasn't aged very well at all :/
YOU'RE BRINGING ME DOWN!
he kept on trying to make me see them, but I always refused!
