You can't keep a boy away from his guitar, can you? I can picture these guys singing along to the radio in front of the bedroom mirror, aged 11, forgetting the maths homework of the day and studying for something far more inspirational and exciting instead. Well, Peterborough isn't exactly the most lively place on earth, right?
The thing is, whereas most of us mere mortals can only dream of being in a band and doing all those naughty things we often read about in the Sunday papers with white powders, soap stars and chauffeur driven motors, the four members of Dirty Little Faces actually did something about it and, like, formed a band and stuff. 'Tis easy, I suppose.
What isn't so easy though is being able to come up with a tune as glaringly infectious as 'Piccadilly', which would have sounded as relevant in Brighton '64 or Woking '76 as it does in {INSERT NAME OF LOCAL GLOOMSPOT HERE} '06. So much so, in fact, that I can picture the next four dreamers-for-real bunking off school and posing in front of the mirror to this record as we speak.
Dreams, eh - what would we do without 'em?
