The announcement was made in the early hours of this morning on the official site. Since the departure of previous bassist Jason Newsted in early 2001, Metallica have been hard at work in rehab, erratically recording their new album 'St Anger', playing unannounced one-off shows, and looking for a bassist for two years(!!!).
The album is due for release in the summer, and the new line-up's first UK dates will be in August at the Reading and Leeds festivals.
Rob's previous job, playing bass with MTV cartoon Ozzy Osborne is now up for grabs. RAWK!!!!
