Britons Abroad @ Noorderslag Festival
-Raz- by Raziq Rauf December 20th, 2005

Several bands from the UK have been confirmed to play the brilliantly named, annual international music industry showcase that is the Noorderslag Weekend.

From January 12th 'til 14th (2006), the Netherlands will be awash with unwashed Britons such as Kubb, Mystery Jets, Adem, Duels, King Creosote, Telex and Mohair are all hustling and bartering their musical wares to the continental industry (as if there is one of those outside London, arf!) as well as mighty agreeable Europeans such as Dungen and Disco Ensemble.

This year the Weekend, comprising the EuroSonic-Noorderslag festival and the Noorderslag Seminar, claims its largest event thus far, numbering almost 200 bands playing hot, sweaty showcases to hot, sweaty industry-types eating Edam or something. Noorderslag celebrates its 20th year of staying ahead of the pack in rock, pop and dance by broadcasting all the sweaty bands via the medium of radio. Radio 1 will obviously be representing the UK on the Sunday night with live music and at later dates via other djs. Mega.

Interestingly, all the showcases take place within a five-minute walk. This had better be true or skulls are getting knocked cos walking would be like exercise. And exercise might kill me or something.

You can go to the website here if you want to find out more about Dutch stuff, like this festival. Well only the festival. Great. Bye.
