Tonight is the night! After 12 days of focussing your attention on each of this year's nominated albums, the wait to find out who has won this year's Barclaycard Album of the Year Mercury prize is almost over.
Will it be Damon? FKA twigs? Will Jungle become this generation's Klaxons? Or will Jungle become this generation's Klaxons? Or perhaps a big upset from Young Fathers, Polar Bear, East India Youth or GoGo Penguin could occur? Quite frankly, given music's answer to the Booker/Turner prize's track record, we really don't have a clue, but we've really enjoyed revisiting each of the nominees this year, and finding out about them all in a little more detail.
The past 12 days have been in partnership with Naim Audio's new wireless music system, mu-so, and to top it all off they suggested we compile all of the editorial into an eBook. What a 'novel' idea, we hollered, and having never done one before, this first was an interesting exercise. Sign up to our mailing list (if you haven't already done so entering our competition to win a mu-so + Mercury-related prizes) and we'll send you the free eBook this afternoon, ahead of tonight's award show, which is being broadcast on More4 and we'll also have an "irreverent" live-blog on DiS of all the action.
Here is a form to join the mailing list:
