Tim Hecker to release Ravedeath "sketches" album
JoeDiddly by Luke Slater September 28th, 2011

Tim Hecker's Ravedeath 1972 made it onto our favourites from the first half of the year and deservedly so, because it is quite frankly brilliant. Don't be surprised to see it up there in our end of year list, although we do like to keep you guessing. It also got 9/10 when we reviewed it upon its release. So there. There's another release, of sorts, from this album on the way, too.

Although we're loathe to call them offcuts, Hecker is going to release Dropped Pianos, which is a collection of "sketches" from the sessions and writing which eventually birthed Ravedeath 1972. Naturally, and as you'd expect from the title, the pieces are all minimal and piano-led. Tracklisting and artwork for the record both below...

  1. Sketch 1
  2. Sketch 2
  3. Sketch 3
  4. Sketch 4
  5. Sketch 5
  6. Sketch 6
  7. Sketch 7
  8. Sketch 8
  9. Sketch 9

The tracklisting probably wasn't worth telling you about, in fairness.
