DiS has joined the likes of Dazed & Confused, XLR8R, Fabric, FACT and Vice for Mixcloud's Celebration of Curation.
Really ruddy great online radio/DJ-mix streaming site Mixcloud asked 30 of their favourite cloudcasters, including DiS, to put together and upload a mix featuring songs that in some sort of way, represent their website. DiS' founder/editor (that's me writing this, in the third person!) put together this selection of things he's been loving this year and a few things from the recent past which just seemed to fit.
The playlist we 'curated' is a somewhat chilled but expansive affair, kicking off with ivory tinklings from Gonzales (did you hear he's on the new iPad advert?), drifting glitchily through some Errors and Emeralds (from probably our Music Forum's lp of the year, so far), takes you to some dizzying dubstep heights with Ikonika and Mount Kimbie before blasting your speakers with a bit of Blood Red Shoes, No Age and These New Puritans** before drifting off into the sunset with Max Richter and one of our favourite new acts of the year memoryhouse. The centerpiece of the playlist is 'Moondance' by Blondes which is easily one of the most mind-blowing must-hear songs of the year, so we've included the entire 11 minutes of it. We hope you enjoy it.
