There has been an awful lot of talk surrounding Women's latest and newest album, Public Strain. A lot of it has been to do with the fact that it leaked. That said, a whole 'nother chunk of it has been surrounding its brilliance. Perhaps even better than the self-titled, some say. That's a long way to go, but we'll see.
The news today is that the band have announced that it'll be released on August 23 through Jagjaguwar in the UK on the usual formats. More news is that they've confirmed the dates for an upcoming UK tour, to take place in late August and early September. Lucky us. One of those dates - the opening one of the tour, in fact - is a Drowned in Sound show. Details below:
August:
30 - Sheffield, The Harley - DiS show | Tickets
31 - Cardiff, Globe
September:
1 - London, Cargo
2 - Manchester, Deaf Institute
3 - Leeds, Brudenell Social Club
4 - Glasgow, Captain's Rest
5 - Newcastle, Cluny
6 - Brighton, Freebutt
In addition to those dates there is also a free mp3 from the album, entitled 'Eyesore'. Download it by clicking here. Oh, and below is the rather blizzard-tastic artwork for the record, by the way...
