Doing anything this Sunday? June 6? The sixth day of the sixth month? No, well good, because you can join in with the rest of us and celebrate the fourth FIFTH annual international day of Slayer. The sharp-minded of you will have worked out that the inaugural Day of Slayer took place on 6/6/6. It doesn't have exactly the same resonance any more but that's besides the point.
More information can be found on the official website, as well as this video of Tom Araya talking about it all, briefly:
Meanwhile, Slayer's Kerry King said in a recent interview:
"I think it's awesome, and it's totally cool that fans have taken the time to maintain it. Slayer should have a national holiday - there are enough stupid holidays out there, so why not have one for us?"
That is true. I know for a fact that there are more stupid 'holidays' in the US than over here, but we should spread ours out a little bit, I mean, TWO in May is a little bit excessive and maybe trim off Good Friday as well, stick one in June and one in July. Sorted.
So, what can you do to celebrate? Apart from listening to Slayer? Answers below, please.
