Told you it was a good time for free EPs from artists of a high quality. Now for the third in the last day or so, as John Frusciante and Mars Volta man Omar Rodriguez Lopez have made available their latest EP entirely for free. Again. They did this before, you remember?
Anyway, the new one is called Sepulcros De Miel and is under the name of the Omar Rodriguez Lopez Quartet, which features Frusciante, as well as compadres Juan Alderete De La Peña and Marcel Rodriguez Lopez, the younger brother of Omar.
The EP can be downloaded from their website for free, on a "name your price" type thing. Some people might call it "doing a Radiohead" but we're past all of that now. The proceeds from the donations go to a 'Keep Music In Schools' programme, rather than the back pocket of the artists, which is cool.
The artwork for Sepulcros De Miel - which translates as 'Honey Graves' or something - is below. All tracks are simple 'parts' no fancy song titles or anything like that.
