This may not be news to many of you, as the announcement's been out for a couple of weeks. But as we neglected to run it when it was first confirmed then we thought we'd make up with for it now. Yeah. So that's exactly what we're doing. Mogwai's feature film type thing, entitled Burning, will get a screening party at The Scala in a couple of weeks time, on June 3 to be precise. The film is directed by Vincent Moon of various-other-things fame and Nathanaël Le Scouarnec. It contains the following tracks:
- The Precipice
- I'm Jim Morrison, I'm Dead
- Hunted By A Freak
- Like Herod
- New Paths to Helicon pt1
- Mogwai Fear Satan
- Scotland's Shame
- Batcat
Burning is made up of footage shot over three nights of performances at the Music Hall of Williamsburg on April 27-29 and was premiered in Glasgow earlier in the year. The film will be released alongside a live album, the band's first. That'll come out on Rock Action Records (obviously) on August 23, with the formats being CD, DVD and limited edition deluxe triple vinyl box set, which also includes the DVD, set lists and a shiny poster. Artwork designed by Aidan Moffat.
Tickets cost a cool £10 and can be bought from here. 18+ ONLY. Watch a trailer below:
