Icelandic neo-classical prodigy Ólafur Arnalds released his second proper full-length record, ...and they have escaped the weight of darkness..., on Monday. It's genuinely worthy of all the praise it gets. We (I) reviewed it here.
Making videos for his work must be a joy, with much license to be ultra-artistic and interpretative, as the new video for 'Hægt, kemur ljósið' proves. It's been directed by Esteban Diácono and you can watch it below. Mechanical bird.
The man himself is currently on a European tour, the dates of which you can find out here. There's a Manchester show coming up, however, and that takes place on July 1 at Bridgewater Hall. And now, for a bit of balance, you can also have a view of his latest 'tour diary' which is one of the silliest things I've seen all year.
