People always seem ask the question 'what are Gorillaz like live? Y'know, how does it all work? Indeed, does it all work?'. If you aren't 'in the know', you'll now have the chance to find out, if you can get yourself down to the capital that is, as the erm...sketchy characters have announced a couple of shows in the city.
They'll take place at Camden's Roundhouse - lovely place, really - on April 29 and 30 which, for those of you without your diary to hand, fall on a Thursday and Friday. It will be, I am informed, the WHOLE shebang, complete with full-band and guests stars a-plenty, as has always been and still is their trademark.
Which guest stars exactly? I hear it'll be Mick Jones, Paul Simonom, De La Soul, Kano, Little Dragon, Mos Def, Super Furry Animals' Gruff Rhys, Shaun Ryder and Bobby Womack. But apparently no Mark E. Smith ('where's North from here?!').
They'll be the band's first London gigs since 2001 and their first full performance since doing a few in Manchester back in 2005. And the price? Well, you may not actually believe this. I guess you were expecting something in the region of £30 or so? Yeah, that'd be pretty reasonable. Add another 50% on top of that. Yep. Forty-five squids.
They go on sale from 9AM on Friday. The band recently released Plastic Beach, read our review here. If anyone knows how Eddy Grant's lawsuit is going then let me know.
