Efterklang announce details of 4AD debut LP
JoeDiddly by Luke Slater November 19th, 2009

Danish exports Efterlang have announced tantalising details of their debut record for their new label 4AD, as well as releasing a free MP3 of a track from it, all quite exciting news.

The new record, their third full-length studio LP in total, and the first since 2007's Parades, will be called Magic Chairs and will be released on February 22, so almost exactly three months until it comes out, 12 weeks...etc. On the record production side was Gareth Jones, who mixed the record in London.

The tracklisting for the album is as follows:

  1. Modern Drift
  2. Alike
  3. I Was Playing Drums
  4. Raincoats
  5. Harmonics
  6. Full Moon
  7. The Soft Beating
  8. Scandinavian Love
  9. Mirror Mirror
  10. Natural Tune

The artwork for it will be a real-life imagining of the below image, co-designed by Hvass & Hannibal, longtime collaborators with the band.

Magic Chairs

Now, the free download, the listen-to track from the album, available NOW is called 'Modern Drift' and is the opening track from Magic Chairs. Do the necessary below, y'know.

Of Magic Chairs, the band says:

"We are very proud of this record and feel that it introduces a new Efterklang sound. The songs draw inspiration from pop song structures, created and recorded with a live approach and we wanted to display every sound source clearly so that the listener can hear every ingredient of the music."

Counting down the days already! Whaddyathink?!
