Steve Martin to play Royal Festival Hall with The Steep Canyon Rangers
JoeDiddly by Luke Slater November 2nd, 2009

World-famous actor-cum-musician and sometime comedian Steve Martin is to play a show at London's Royal Festival Hall with his band The Steep Canyon Rangers. Yes, you did read that correctly. Surprising, perhaps. You may already known he's won a Grammy for his music, but I certainly didn't.

He's pretty goooood at the ol' Bluegrass technique of the clawhammer, a five fingered technique awfully difficult to master (stop sniggering at the back...).

It's his first appearance in the UK and is bound to be a sight to see and hear. He'll be performing tracks from his new album The Crow: New Songs For The Five-String Banjo, just so you know roughly what to expect.

Support for the show, which takes place on Monday November 9, comes from Mary Black and tickets can be bought from here.

Listen and watch below for Steve Martin's mastery:

Look at those ruddy fingers!

'MAZING.
