Updated: Was A Cub Scout definitely call it a day
Mike_Diver by Mike Diver June 6th, 2008

Official news in: I Was A Cub Scout have decided to call it a day in their current guise.

Late last night, vocalist and keyboard player Todd Marriott sent the following bulletin via MySpace:

Hello friends,

Here it goes

Tonight we have decided that I was a cub scout has and must now come to a close.

We have had countless problems over the past year or so and with yet more occuring, we feel it best to end on what would seem like a decent note.

We will be honouring all of our uk shows of which we have confirmed. with the I tunes festival at koko with death cab for cutie on july 14th being our last.

We will speak more of it all soon, but for now we must tour.

It is a very sad day for us

Thankyou

todd x

The band's management today said this:

"We're as sad and gutted as the band themselves for this to be announced, but it is indeed true. Todd and Will are going to finish their UK shows on a high before bowing out as IWACS. The two will be starting on various new projects which hopefully will come to fruition before long. It's been a pleasure to work with the band and we'll be working with Todd and Will for time to come. We're sorry to the fans, but thankful for all those who bought the records and attended the shows. It's truly been great fun. Peace out."

IWACS's remaining UK tour dates are as follows:

June
6 Sheffield Plug
7 Nottingham Rescue Rooms
8 Manchester Academy 3
9 LeedsCockpit
10 Brighton Barfly
11 Portsmouth Wedgewood Rooms
21 Exeter Phoenix Auditorium
22 Exeter Marquee (under 20s only)
