Deerhoof acting offensive on new album
TheBoyDeadly by TheBoyDeadly June 4th, 2008

We weren’t sure if you knew already, but Deerhoof have a new album out this autumn. It’s called Offend Maggie. Are you Maggie? Yes? Sod you.

Trailing 2007 effort Friend Opportunity at a distance come 14 tracks, split by the San Franciscans into two ‘acts’. Here’s what’ll be arriving on October 7th (US) and sooner (www.) through Kill Rock Stars.

Act 1:
‘Offend Maggie’
‘Fresh Born’
‘Chandelier Searchlight’
‘The Tears and Music of Love’
‘Buck and Judy’
‘Don’t Get Born’
‘My Purple Past’

Act 2:
‘Basket Ball Get Your Groove Back’
‘Numina’
‘This is God Speaking’
‘Eaguru Guru’
‘Snoopy Waves’
‘Jagged Fruit’
‘Family of Others’

It being webdays ‘n’ all, the band will offer up a downloadable score for 1.0 whole song for you to fumble around with on some website or other at some point. Basically the information we have is pretty vague, but from what we gather you’ll get to remix a track and upload it with other fan efforts.

Deerhoof will embark upon a world tour after Offend Maggie arrives, but for now play these shows at various outposts across their home planet:

June
7 Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, US Festival Pier (Roots Family Picnic)
14 Tokyo, Japan Liquidroom
15 Osaka, Japan Shangri-La
16 Nagoya, Japan Club Upset
18 Sapporo, Japan Bessie Hall

July
18 Brooklyn, New York, US Prospect Park
19 Halifax, Novia Scotia Halifax Jazz Festival
