DiS Goes Camping: Festival Round Up
DiS Goes Camping: Festival Round Up
rubbafish by Colin Weston June 22nd, 2004
With festival season fast approaching we thought we would go around the country and highlight a few of those festivals that don't have massive sponsorship backing, but great line-ups for you to check out.

We start off with The Plymouth Festival. From 2-4 July at the Newham Park in Plympton, musical highlights include Biffy Clyro, thisGIRL Haven, 3 Colours Red, Million Dead and Stampin' Ground. Camping tickets are £45 for all three days although you can get non-camping tickets for £30 with day tickets also available. For full details on getting tickets and line-ups, check the official site linked above.

Over the same period (that’s 2-4 July) in Bracknell we have the Out There Festival. Being held at the South Hill Park Arts Centre line up includes Lemon Jelly, Bonobo and Amp Fiddler as well as many others. Tickets for the full weekend cost £50 and full line-ups can be found at the official festival website.

The 7th of August sees the return of one of my favourite festivals, the Thurrock Music Festival! After taking a year out, the organisers are back and they are bigger and better then ever with Jetplane Landing, Reuben, Engerica, Eighties Matchbox B-Line Disaster and My Red Cell already confirmed with many more to come and all it costs is £8!!! Details are coming in thick and fast and you can keep updated by checking the official site on a regular basis.

That’s just a few of the choice cuts we can give you. Although a few of the staple festivals of past years are in doubt (there is no Willow in Peterborough and no news on Breeze in Leeds to date), there are enough other festivals to concentrate on. Have fun, be safe and keep the scene alive!
