As of today Drowned in Sound has a lot of new features to try out - they're all packaged into a new user area at http://www.drownedinsound.com/users/. This is something you'll need to sign up for an account to access, but don't worry the signup is quick and relatively painless, and once you have an account you can do all the following new things:
- Create your own Drowned in Sound user profile (rather like our authors' profiles)
- Rate bands on the site, and have your favourites listed in the profile
- Post to the message boards from your own account (you won't have to type your name in each time you post, instead your profile will be linked)
- Seek out other users with similar (or differing!) tastes
- Chat with other users by sending and receiving notes (quick private messages between users that you can see when you log in to the site)
- Get recommendations about new bands you might like, based on the ones you've already rated
Give it a try and rate some bands - the more that get rated the better our recommendations will become.
