There is something wholeheartedly unappealing about* Juliette And The Licks*.

The shockingly dull name aside, the hapless looks on the faces of those who provide Little Miss Hollywood with her bog-standard half-metal riffs are also instantly off-putting. Their latest single, 'Hot Kiss', sounds more like a lukewarm dribble from some tired old rocker's butt crack.

So uninspiring is this three-minute waste of studio time, it’s a wonder Lewis hasn’t been yanked back to Beverly Hills, no questions asked. It certainly doesn’t warrant merit as a worthy '70s rock pastiche, and if it’s claiming homage as an excuse for its tawdry, processed sound, then Lindsey Lohan is the next Aretha Franklin. Redundant rubbish.

Pretty

much...

The guitarist

used to be the drummer for The Rise. Who were amazing.

^piss weak grammar.

apologies.

He was?

I saw them at The Garage, supporting Snapcase.

They were AWESOME.

So

Patty Schemel is out then?

The Rise

were such a fucking horrible Refused rip-off band. Just amazingly obvious plagiarism & a lack of their own ideas. Just my inconsequential two-penneth.

true to an extent...

...but live, they were wicked.

Yeah i can imagine it being good support band fun

but they just annoyed me by having virtually every element of their band sound/look the same as refused. Vocals barked in the same style, same stacatto keyboard parts, same electronica breaks, same sort of post-hardcore guitar sound/angular chord progressions. And on top of all that they put Refused's bloody bass player on the cover of their album! Just carbon copy basically.

They annoy me in retrospect I suppose.

mmmmm

i didnt like their electronics, they was rubbish.
bit of a step down though, playing with this shower.

Its a strange move

One of the others joined ...trail of dead as bass player, managing to get in there just as they went down the crapper. Bad luck ex-The Rise men!

loved em at the garage.

Their second album was great, they ditched the refused-y sound and did more electronic stuff, sounded more like a post-hardcore version of The Faint.

yeah

agreed

"Redundant rubbish."

Spot on.

She was good in

Cape Fear though, eh?

Er oh.

She's to fugly to even begin noticing how dire the music is.

Crap.

*too fugly.
