A mere slip of song at under three minutes, ‘No More Workhorse Blues’ is a lush revisit of a track that originally appeared way back in the depths of time on the second Palace Brothers** album. Now, a fiddle and slide guitar snake their way through the tune and it sounds no less dark, but a little more palatable.
The true jewel of the record, however, is the new B-side ‘_The Kiss’ which is the sort of sparse, emotion-encrusted cold-hearted torch song that BPB has become synonymous with. Quite, quite great.
