The Raveonettes

That Great Love Sound

Label: Columbia Records Release Date: 18/08/2003

tom_edwards by Tom Edwards September 1st, 2003

Jesus, moooore garage rock? Haven’t you people got bored of it already? Can’t we get back to ripping off the ‘80s now? Haven’t any of you foreign types heard of Duran Duran, Associates, or erm… Bow Wow Wow???

I know!! Let’s have a nice big indie rock update of ‘Go Wild In The Country’ or… or… a power pop version of ‘Vienna’. ANYTHINNGGG! Please just end the regime of miserablist fuckers trying soooo constipation-inducingly hard to be cool.

*Initial Anger Abates*

Bah! I guess at least the European lot have a vaguely developed sense of humour. The vids quite funny, innit? And they’ve got some nice boy-girl singing and a bit of a tune.

Oh, fuck it, I give in…
