"The Bigger, The Better"
Sound advice indeed from the Yeah Yeah Yeahs wailing lead vocalist Karen O, courtesy of their startling debut single 'Bang' which comes as part of an equally stellar EP.
Of course, I could go on about New York, Strokes and wearing dark clothes for photo shoots but I won't. Yeah Yeah Yeah's may not have had the same recognition had it not been for a certain movement of visceral Rock 'n' Roll bands jumping head first out of America, but we cannot blame them for that, they simply happen to be at the right place at the right time.
'Bang' of course, is as brash, confident and downright sexy as you'd dared hope. Garage-blues-punk of the highest order combine the aforementioned Karen O's super elastic vocals, like a drunk PJ Harvey taking the mickey out of Courtney Love. If that could ever happen.
Yeah Yeah Yeah's want to take you to another place. Don't be a narrow minded cynic and refuse. Hop on and get horny. In a manner of speaking.
