Born and raised in East Detroit, from his mid-teens Jimmy Edgar played raves in the city alongside techno's founding fathers. Also conducting ambitious recording experiments, by age 18 he'd signed to Warp. Later establishing the Ultramajic imprint with fellow electronic auteur Aden, fresh material from the label provides the backbone for 'Fabric Live 79' and selections from Patrice Scott, DJ Godfather and Kris Wadsworth means the music of Detroit runs like a seam through the mix.
