The strokes release their fifth studio album, 'comedown machine', on rough trade, with a minimal cover design that resembles an rca demo tape. It's their best album since they hit perfection with their debut. They sound like themselves - those taut rhythmical jabs, stabs of guitar underpinning Casablanca's dozily sighed vocals - but nothing like themselves at the same time.

The Strokes - Comedown Machine
The Strokes will never get back the raw magic of Is This It? but, with Comedown Machine, they’ve cast a different spell entirely – one that’s almost joyful. »
