hugo manuel of oxford band jonquil began balearic solo project chad valley when he returned from an ibiza holiday. a couple of years have passed and he's now pulled together his debut album, released via indie label loose lips. the album mixes simmering pop with balearic beats and the island rhythms of ibiza. 'young hunger' features a host of collaborations between manuel and active child, twin shadow, totally enormous extinct dinosaurs and el perro del mar. standout track is first single and hazy ballad 'fall 4 u' which features glasser and sounds like prime 80's era scritti politti.
