swimming in a creeped-out nostalgia that evokes misty ages past through crackling, emotive electronics, pye corner audio's new album pays homage to the beginnings of electronic pop music while cloaked in a enveloping darkness that brings to mind the modern methods of the likes of demdike stare or blackest ever black luminaries. it's a dark light that's shed over proceedings here, pulsing drum machines with cut-off frequencies, horror-scape melodies on analog synths, pye corner audio is a sonic pioneer that has found his place, a place somewhere between the future-nostalgia of the 70s and the modern (de)composition of club mores.
