jack penate is starting clean with his appropriately titled sophomore effort, 'everything is new'. after a successful debut, this followup takes the music in a different direction. 'everything is new' takes in an amalgamation of influences ranging from gospel to reggaeton to balearic in only nine tracks. however, each track is still a golden nugget of pop. the album was recorded over a year in producer paul epworth's west london studio and every instrument was played by jack and paul.

Jack Peñate - Everything Is New
This isn't lo-fi krautrock this or soulful jazz that. Despite the tropical flourishes, Jack Peñate has simply returned with another chart-friendly pop album, and XL are unlikely to have any complaints about that.»
