the xx are four 19 year olds, (baria, jamie, oliver and romy,) from south west london. they are the latest signing to young turks, they'e currently in the process of finishing their debut album. produced by the band and engineered by cocadisco's rodaidh mcdonald, the album is being recorded in a one room studio inside the xl offices. 'crystalised' is their debut single and it's dark, brooding and minimal but with a pop hook. the vocals are part male and part female and sung in a hushed tone. think a mix of the cure, new order and cat power. limited 7" and sure to sellout out quickly.....release date: 27/04/2009
