It’s so tempting to open with it that it can’t be ignored: this review as good as writes itself with a title like that. There. Done. Over. And?
The Little Ones’ latest summery-pop single is, as in keeping with past releases, the sort of song that flutters away prettily in the background without ever reaching out, grabbing its audience by the collar and demanding to be taken more seriously. It’s pleasant pop, hardly worthy of a ‘soaring’ classification but hardly a damp squib either; a little ray of sunshine when the British weather is nearing its worst.
Ordinary, then? In a way – certainly with my senses clogged with cold this morning I’m in no mood to fence-sit, as my balance would almost certainly fail me, but if ‘Ordinary Song’ is the most average offering from The Little Ones’ forthcoming Morning Tide LP, they’ve a proper treat in store for purebred indie-pop fans come its release.

Sing Song was a delightful mini album
But this song is so average, probably their weakest yet.
Love this band
...but in fairness this is probably their weakest single to date. Heard loads of new stuff when I saw them recently and most of it was a lot better.
