Yup, glam rocker turned glum rocker Nicky Wire is to follow the lead of fellow Manic Street Preacher James 'we're not' Dean 'splitting up' Bradfield and embark upon a solo career.
'The Shining Path', available to download from iTunes on July 17th, will be the first single plucked from debut album I Shot The Zeitgeist.
This paragraph would usually be used to house some disparaging remark, some cutting jibe to put Mr Wire down a peg or three. Something about his wearing of girly make-up, or leopard-print pants... something like that. In this instance, though, it serves only to ensure that the advert - below - doesn't bugger up the article's layout.

better
but he's not really the singer...
I watched Doherty on Johnny Woss
And it reminded me so much of Richie James and Nicky wire in the early 90's.
He's also on a compilation:
The Whirled Cup - Nicky Wire exclusive track on Anti Scene compilation this summer. Release date: 21-Aug.
Nicky Wire has contributed a song to a forthcoming collection, The Whirled Cup (download/limited August). It features some of the buzziest newer wave artists - The Betes Noires, Chet, The Darling Reds, Dexy, Dolium, Empty Vessels, The Fairies Band, Gear, Hey Gravity!, Innercity Pirates, Jonny Lives!, Korova, Lazyslave, Making Eyes At Elvis, Nebraska, The Needles, Seeing Scarlet, The Veez, White Man Kamikaze and William - at the "Share The Joy" price of a five pounds, so that people get to discover some great alternative bands. His life of wire anthem, 'Ritual No.1' - won't appear on 'I Shot The Zeitgeist', released this Autumn. More info and interviews with the artists here:

Man that guy sure loves pie!

"Oh-so-clever" with a lyrical obtuseness that far outshone their musicianship?
Nail on the head

is a fucking cunt and drowning is too god for him. He's such a wanker that when he was born, the midwife slapped his mum across the face.
i did too
and it was like watching a car-wreck in slow motion. then he played that song, which had bits of decent song held together by entirely unrelated not very good bits of song and unsurprisingly the whole thing sounded like a shambles and thus well shit
Nicky Wire is
ace
